Why is identification and address verification necessary?
Our operations are governed by the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations of 2019, the London Local Authorities Act of 2007, and guidelines for Knowing Your Customer (KYC). These regulations mandate that we confirm the identity and address of our clients and some shareholders.
No action needed for most clients
For about 90% of our clients, there’s no need to take any further action. We will verify your identity and address digitally using the details you provided on your company registration form.
Quick ID verification process if required
Should there be a need for you to provide further identification, you can easily do so. It only takes about 5 minutes with the help of your smartphone. For the 10% of our clients who either do not qualify for digital verification or if the process is unsuccessful, we collaborate with CREDAS to offer an advanced mobile application. This app allows you to certify and submit your ID and address proof rapidly at no extra charge.
Follow our simple guide
Our ID Team will reach out via email with straightforward instructions on how to use the app. When submitting your ID using the app, we advise using your passport and a recent proof of address document from the last three months.
Identification requirements
Should we need to request ID from you, we’ll specify whose ID is needed, so you won’t have to figure it out yourself. Just for your information, here are the parties from whom we are legally obligated to collect ID:
- Individuals purchasing any company formation package, an address service, or specific company secretarial services such as share transfers or issuances.
- Shareholders owning more than 25% of a company or LLP.
- Users of our Business Address Service who opt to have their mail forwarded.
